Christmas cards in support of several development agencies also disappeared like snow off the proverbial ditch.
At the end of the morning, a figure of over 1,000 had been raised, those attending had had an enjoyable morning and there was the quiet satisfaction of knowing that a successful effort had been made to help an agency which helps the poor to help themselves, lobbies for justice and peace and is present where people most need assistance.
Walking is a great way to get into shape as well as being a great way to meet new friends and see new places.
The new website up and running and we encourage you to give it a look and see what the group have planned for the rest of the year with a Saturday hike up Moylussa overlooking Lough Derg, a proposed day out to Slieve Donard in the North of Ireland and a return to Lough Dan in Wicklow to name but a few.
North Tipperary Hospice Roscrea Branch Outreach Cancer Support & Information Service is now re-opened after the holidays at the Parish Centre, Roscrea every Thursday from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
This Thursday December 7th The Blazers are keeping it local with a walk around The Sli na Slainte in Roscrea. Our next day out is on Saturday December the 9th to The Moylussa loop near Killaloe Co Clare.
You could do worse than join the group and at the end of the walk , call into The Taste of Roscrea at Roscrea Castle where The Trail Blazers will have a stand. There are two walks on offer, the Ballycuggaran Loop, 5.6km, two hours moderate hike and a Three hour, 9km strenuous climb up by the boardwalk to Moylussa.
All are invited to come along and enjoy what promises to be a great occasion.
Big kids as well as the small kids are all welcome.
